Ping Announce Apprenticeship Achievement

As a marketing company we always encourage our clients to share their successes and news with their own clients, customers and prospects.  So, we thought we’d better ‘practice what we preach’ and do likewise. We are proud to announce that we are a finalist for the ‘Newcomer Apprentice employer of the year!’ award.

Our apprenticeship journey

Our apprenticeship journey only started in November of last year, when we welcomed our first ever apprentice George, to the Ping family here at our offices within the Vale of Evesham.

As a small business, taking on a new employee is a big commitment and working with an apprentice is no exception. We were nervous about taking on an apprentice and asked ourselves lots of questions to be sure we could offer the right environment for an apprentice to develop their skills and ultimately contribute to the success of our growing business.

Would the apprentice have the right foundational skills and would we have enough time to give them the input they needed?  Would we be better employing an already experienced member of staff?

It was important to us that our apprentice should be given the opportunities of a regular employee and not just make the tea, do the photocopying or keeping our filing in order.

We met some very high-quality candidates during the apprenticeship recruitment process, fully supported by the fabulous 3aaa Team and decided that George was the best fit for us.  and we’ve been thrilled with the outcome! Let’s talk about George

What really surprised us from the outset was the real contribution an apprentice can have to a business. As many apprentice employers will know, apprentices are extremely committed to their job and they highly value the opportunity they have been given.

George brought his keen interest in creative marketing, social media and customer service to Ping, as well as his fabulous personality that has seen him click with all of our clients, understanding their needs and managing various aspects of their marketing campaigns.

George takes up the storygeorge

“On my first day, I was very nervous and unsure that I was ready for the business environment but thanks to the friendly team, I felt like I fitted in immediately. I have been given so much support and guidance from Sarah (MD) and the rest of the team, in developing my business and personal life.

I feel that I have gained more experience in 1 year at Ping than 3 whole years of studying at university, the fact that I have experienced and managed all areas of marketing projects has really opened my eyes to the marketing industry and opened so many doors in my career.”

On a personal note, I would like to thank George for his hard work and dedication so far, he has become an integral part of the company and it’s great to see him utilising the skills and knowledge he learns from his apprentice coach within the work place.

As a team we are all very much looking forward to the awards, just to be nominated and reach the top 3 for our category is something we are all proud of.  Talking about the awards
